The production we will see is the musical, "They're Playing Our Song," and Marty Salkin (Allan's wife) has set aside a block of seats for us on Saturday, February 20th, 2010. Dear Rutgers friends, The Rutgers Club of San Diego is pleased to share with you the results of its membership satisfaction survey. Forty-eight members responded to the survey. The detailed results are now available on our club website: Survey Highlights: A. Rutgers Events in San Diego With the Highest Alumni Interest: 1. Annual Picnic - 64% 2. Rutgers Sports, Social Events (tie) - 62% 3. Business Networking - 53% 4. Annual Dinner, Padres Baseball Night Out (tie) - 49% B. To build our club's strength, a whopping 88.4% of our alumni-respondents said they are willing to allocate some time each month to participate in alumni activities! C. The Army Black Knights are 3-7 this season and the Scarlet Knights are 5-5. RU had a 41 - 6 victory over Army in 2007 and did not play Army in 2006. Army leads the all-time series against Rutgers 18-16. There are only 2 games left this season! The last game of the regular season will be played on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. against Louisville. The team needs one more win this season for a shot at an invitation to a bowl game! Rutgers vs Navy Come join us as we watch Rutgers take on regional rival Navy. The Rutgers Club of San Diego will be watching the game at Big Bertha's/Typhoon Saloon. Kickoff is at 12:30pm. Bring your Navy friends for some friendly rivalry. The Scarlet Knights (0-2) are in search of their first victory of the season and their fourth straight in the series vs. Navy (1-2). Going for Four Straight Rutgers will look to equal its longest win streak in series history vs. Navy with a victory Saturday in Annapolis. The longest winning streak for Rutgers in the series is four games - dating from 1969-1995.The Scarlet Knights have won six of the last seven meetings vs. the Mids, including a 34-0 victory at Navy in 2006. The 2006 shutout win marked the last time Rutgers has blanked an opponent on the road. Rutgers is also looking for its second straight victory in Annapolis. Only one other time in series history - 1998 and 2000 - the Scarlet Knights have been able to win consecutive games in Annapolis.

Rutgers Alumnus is Producing Director at Scripps Ranch Theatre
Here's a message from Allan Salkin. We encourage all members of the Rutgers Club of San Diego to support the show! See you there!*****Fellow R.U. Folks:If, perchance, you're looking for something interesting and fun to do on the next two weekends (except for this Saturday evening, of course, for those attending the Mets-Padres game), you will not find a better, more fun local theatre production than the musical, "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change," which we have running at Scripps Ranch Theatre (where I'm now called "Producing Director). It's been running since May 9, and I should have told you about it before this. Audiences are loving it.If you want more info, you can find it at http://www.scrippsranchtheatre.org/. Tickets are $19 ($17 for seniors), and it's the best theatrical bang for the buck you'll find anywhere. (Box office can be reached at 858/578-7728.) It's been a few months since the annual dinner and summer has finally crept up on us. This seems like as good a reason as any to get together for an afternoon of wine and snacks.
Please join us on Saturday, July 5, from 1-4 at Wine Steals in Point Loma (check out the website at www.winestealssd.com ). We have reserved the private room in the back where we can sample a flavorful array of white and red wines and nibbles while enjoying each other's company on a long holiday weekend.
Cost is $25.00 per person. Payment can be made either by check made payable to Rutgers Club of San Diego and mailed to P.O. Box 231956,Encinitas, CA 92023-1956 or via Paypal to rutgersclubsd@gmail.com.Payment must be received by Saturday, June 28. We look forward to seeing you at Wine Steals on July 5!
